The mission of Chittagong Development Research Centre (CDRC) is to promote quality research, dialogue, group discussion, and effective use of communication using webinar, online live, focused on current developmental challenges involving Bangladesh, more particularly, Chittagong. It aims to create a platform for interdisciplinary research, knowledge sharing, and policy-oriented initiatives that contribute to society and encourage individuals to come forward with innovative ideas and opinions for sharing.
Chittagong, the second largest division of Bangladesh after the capital Dhaka and the location of the largest sea port, is also considered the commercial capital city of Bangladesh, having rivers, forestry, ocean, five-star hotels, multispecialized hospitals, an eco-park, and the largest Chittagong-Khatungonj wholesale market for consumer goods such as oil, rice, spices, and more available on one plate. Despite the abundance of many resources, with a heavy heart, it is noted that Chittagong is still far from its desired destination. To meet the growing demand and consider the immense potential in economic, social, as well as well-being of the local mass, a holistic approach is required to meet above agendas.
